After School Program, Librarian, and Athletic Director
A little bit about me:
My family moved to Nebraska in the early 1980’s. Since then, we have set roots in Hastings, calling it home. It is truly “The Good Life.” I had the privilege of graduating from Hastings College with a BA in Health Promotion and Management. In my pursuit for continued education, I have completed additional certifications such as CPhT, CNA, MA and others from the International Sports Sciences Association.
What is your favorite Bible verse and why?
As I experience trials and tribulations of life, I find peace and comfort through these words, “Bless the Lord, O my soul; and all that is within me, bless his holy name!” Psalm 103:1
What is your favorite thing about teaching at Zion?
Our organization believes in providing the proper Christian environment and facilitating an important family connection, centered around the word of God. Zion Lutheran has, through its vision, charged me with the design and implementation of several programs that continue to bring me ever closer to the Lord.
Share a favorite memory at Zion.
I began the Zion Olympic Games in the winter of 2018, followed by the Zion X Games in the spring of 2019, and next year will be the Zion Olympic Summer Games. Through these experiences, I have seen students develop their abilities to lead, work as a team, dedicate themselves to participation, and find their will to succeed. It is a proud and rewarding moment watching students’ untapped potential begin to surface.
What does Christian education mean to you?
Christian education is inspirational, spiritual, and uplifting. It provides a platform for young students to develop a way of life that centers around God.
