It’s hard to believe that we just wrapped up our 3rd quarter of the school year. March was a busy month for ZLS. Thank you to everyone who attended, volunteered, sponsored, or donated to our annual ACLEA FIRE banquet and auction. It was a lovely evening had by all. Without your support, our Adams County Lutheran schools would not be able to offer the same level of quality Christian education that students need so desperately – especially in today’s world.

Our first-ever ZLS Rally Night on March 12th was a great success! According to our estimates, about 130 people attended, which is the best turnout that we’ve had in quite a while for an “open house” type event. Thank you to all of you who attended. Now that we have this first event under our belt, we will know how to plan and prepare even better for next year. We had a lot of information to share with everyone about all of the positive changes coming to ZLS next year. I promise that next year’s presentation will be shorter! 😊

We have been enjoying our educational partnership with Julie Ochsner from the Adams County Extension Office. She just finished up our STEM projects with the 3rd – 8th graders. They learned about a lot, including weather science experiments, computer coding programs, and how to build bridges with everyday household objects. Julie also came to kick off our embryology study this week. You’ll notice the incubator in front of the office full of eggs that will hopefully hatch into some adorable baby chicks in a few weeks. She even brought us some special eggs from hens of unique breeds so we are eager to see the different varieties of chicks that may hatch. Julie will also be starting a 4-H program at our school next year, so we are very excited about that.

We have a busy 4th quarter planned with some other exciting events. Our ZLS Passport Night will be on Thursday, April 25th at 6:30pm. This event is free and open to the public. All of our classes/students will display their projects on various countries of the world. Booths will represent the food, fashion, talent, and displays of all the different cultures. It should be a fun night for everyone.

You may have noticed the flyers posted on our school doors with information about our upcoming God is Great! concert on Friday, May 10th featuring Nashville Christian recording artist, Jennie Williamson. The school concert will be at 2:00pm and the family/community concert will be at 6:00pm. This is a FREE event for families of all ages and includes a hot dog meal beforehand (free will donation). Jennie travels across the world to share her interactive music ministry and has sold over 800,000 CD’s. She brings an energy and excitement for Jesus that is contagious. Make plans now to attend, and please invite your friends!
